• Salicylic acid- This is by far the number one used over the counter treatment for wart removal. It comes in two forms; pre-treated pad and liquid that you apply daily.
• Silver Nitrate- Wart treatments of this nature come in a caustic pencil. A user should be extremely careful as the silver nitrate can burn healthy tissue and stain clothing.
• Freezing- Recently the use of liquid nitrogen as becomes available over the counter. You should also be careful with this treatment as it can also damage healthy tissue if it comes into contact with it.
These have all been used over the years with varying degrees of success. The salicylic acid takes several weeks to be effective and some people become discouraged and discontinue treatment too soon.

• Potato- Slice a red potato and rub the raw potato in a circular motion over the wart for a few minutes. Repeat a couple of times per day.
• Apple Cider Vinegar- This has apparently become the remedy for all that ails us. Instructions say to dip a cotton ball in apple cider vinegar and place it on the wart, then cover with bandage over night.
• Nail Polish- Usually a clear polish is best, cover the wart a couple of times per day until it falls off. The polish seals the wart and causes it to die.
• Duct Tape- Same principle as the nail polish but a little more durable for areas of the body such as feet.
